On Thursday, the San Saba High School Power lifting team competed in the San Saba meet. The San Saba Boys team finished 2nd out of 17 teams. This meet had several large schools in the area including Stephenville, Brownwood, Llano, Lampasas, Marble Falls, Burnet, Dublin, Brady, Hamilton, Bangs, and Coleman just to name a few. These boys are to be congratulated for this accomplishment. Most of the girls got medals, and all of the girls bettered their totals and they should be complimented for this. We had about 255 lifters from 17 schools competing at our meet. 11 lifters that competed received individual medals for their accomplishments. We had a really good showing in the boys and girls division and we had several lifters gain some valuable experience. All of our San Saba lifters competed to the best of their ability and showed some really good totals. In most weight classes, there were at least 15 lifters with some having as many as 25 lifters, so this meet was a rather large one. We are extremely proud of the way our lifters that competed at this meet, and we look forward to seeing them progress throughout the end of this power-lifting season. If you get a chance to see any of our lifters, please pat them on the back and let them know what a wonderful job they are doing representing San Saba High School and our community. I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for all of the volunteers that helped make our meet a success and the businesses that sponsored the meet. Without these people we could not have hosted such a large meet. The meet was awesome for our kids and our community because of your service and dedication.
