San Saba County (CRCG) Community Resource Coordination Group
Thursday, February 14, 2013 • Posted February 13, 2013

What is it?

Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCGs) are local interagency groups comprised of public and private agencies. Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCGs) provide a mechanism that helps local public and private agencies and organizations work together to meet the complex needs of individuals for whom no one agency can meet. CRCGs identify service gaps in the area and help plan for appropriate resources to meet those needs. Most social service agencies are guided by eligibility criteria which determine service delivery and often make it difficult for one agency to meet the complex needs of individuals and families. CRCGs make it more likely for the individual or family to receive the assistance they need before the problems become unsolvable. As a result, more people get the services and supports they need.

What does it do?

CRCGs are organized and established on a county by county basis. The San Saba County CRCG is a part of the Tri-County Community Resource Coordination Group which is made up of San Saba, Mills and Lampasas Counties. CRCG meetings are held each month on the third Tuesday, rotating between San Saba, Lampasas, and Mills Counties. These meetings are open to the community and serve as a good resource for education about local services and programs. Meetings are conducted routinely for members to provide program updates and keep track of local resources available to assist clients and consumers. When a referral is received, the CRCG group holds a staff meeting, which is a closed meeting, not opened to the public for confidentiality purposes. During a staffing, CRCG members and the individual/family seeking assistance meet to prepare an action plan to address their needs. Anyone can refer to the CRCG.

Who can be a part of CRCG?

Any agency can be a part of the CRCG and more community involvement is always welcomed. The next San Saba County CRCG meeting is scheduled for March 19, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. in the Arrowhead Bank Board Room, located on the second floor. For more information on how to become a member of your local CRCG, please contact your local CRCG Chair, Danna Smith, LBSW at 325-372-5188 x.5191.
