Mattie Emma Johnson, a lifetime resident of San Saba County, recently celebrated her birthday at Pecan Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on January 14th, 1908, she turned 105 years old this year. Her family and friends gathered together on Saturday, January 12th for a Celebration of Life honoring Emma, celebrating with cake and punch. She was showered with flowers and gifts. She was honored again on Tuesday January 22nd by the staff and residents of Pecan Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation along with visitors from the community. Students from SSISD Family and Community Class were here as well to join in the celebration. All joined in to sing Happy Birthday to Emma and were served cake and punch afterward. We are all extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to become friends with Emma. She is a shining light in all our lives with her sweet spirit, loving, caring and giving heart! We all love her very much! Happy Birthday Emma!
