The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met January 3, 2013 for the monthly business meeting. The meeting was called to order by the president, Anita Miles, and the secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the minutes and they were approved as read. Anita gave the financial report in the absence of the treasurer, Hattie Rogers. The ladies discussed the traveling 4-ball annual meeting which will be held in San Saba.

On January 10, 2013 the San Saba Ladies Association hosted the annual traveling 4-ball business meeting. Lampasas was absent. Anita welcomed the ladies and turned the meeting over to the traveling 4-ball chair, Sandee Hartley, who conducted the meeting. The ladies voted to change the entry fee to $35, but it was later recended due to the by laws. The ladies were served donuts, coffee, and juice. Jo Anne Hardy had decorated the tables, she always graciously does this task and does such a good job.

January 17, 2013 the ladies played cards, due to the weather and Jo Anne brought delicious homemade soup and cornbread and Jo Ann Snow brought a yummy cake and the ladies had a great day of fun and fellowship.

January 24, 2013 four ladies showed up on a beautiful January day for golf in the Texas sun. Sandee Hartley and Jo Ann Snow had great days, tying to win the game, and Sandee chipped in to win the chip in pot and Jo Ann won the putt pot. Dorothy Sterner and Anita Miles just had fun playing in the sun. The games scores were very close. The game was ‘binga, banga, bongo’, where you get a point for first on the green, closest to the pin, and first in the hole.

So golf is alive and well at the San Saba River Golf Course!

We are so missing Hattie Rogers as her husband, George, is having some health issues. Our prayers are with the Rogers! Hattie is such a loyal, loved member of our organization!

We may be playing cards more than golf the next few weeks but we’ll be having fun either way....dealing or ‘swinging’!
