Elm Grove Echoes

I recently received an email from readers in Germany. It seems our little column is read over the internet throughout the world. Armand wrote that he was so glad the column would continue. He also sends condolences from his family to the Cummings family. Armand and his wife, Nancy, bought Irene and Jesse’s place on Highway 765. He states that their duty in Germany will soon be finished. He says they are excited to get back to Texas, especially the beautiful country and friends in Elm Grove. Thank you for the email Armand. Keep us posted on your return.

The Tharp and Gossett families traveled to Brookesmith to watch the Junior High Coyotes win their basketball games on Saturday. The Junior High girls won first place in the tournament and the boys won Consolation. A big shout out to our “Elm Grove kids” and the part they play in the all the great things happening at Richland Springs school, both in academics and athletics.

Marilyn Suber emailed that her granddaughter, Sophia Elizondo from San Angelo, visited recently. Marilyn said they had a “blast, doing pretty much anything Miss Sophia wanted to do”. Grandbabies sure make the world a better place! On a sad note, she reported that Michael’s dad, G.H. Suber of Odessa, is not doing well. He has leukemia and his white blood count is still extremely low even after treatments. He is being sent home from the hospital with hospice. Please keep Michael’s dad and the Suber family in your prayers. It has been a tough year of loss for them.

I would like to start getting the word out about the upcoming Gospel Singing that will be held at the Elm Grove community center on March 16th. Start letting you friends and neighbors know, get it on your calendar, and make plans to attend this inspirational night of singing and fellowship!
