75th Annual "San Saba Rodeo and Livestock Association Pro Rodeo Days"
Thursday, January 31, 2013 • Posted January 30, 2013

The 2012 San Saba Rodeo was the inaugural year for the San Saba Rodeo and Livestock Association, and was composed of various committees and volunteers. With only three months to prepare, we had a very successful parade and rodeo, and hope 2013 will be bigger and better. The 2012 Rodeo was awarded plaques at the United Professional Rodeo Association Year-End Banquet in November for the 18th Highest Paying Rodeo and for being a finalist for "Rodeo of the Year" out of over 300 rodeos.

Once again we are preparing for another exciting Rodeo and Parade weekend on May 31st and June 1st. Due to the conflict with High School Graduation, the parade will be Saturday afternoon at 4:00p.m., and will be led by the world renowned Six White Horses of Abilene, who have appeared in several Presidential Inauguration Parades. Hopefully, it will also include the mounted 4th Calvary of Ft. Hood and their band. The initial announcement letter has already gone out stating the parade on Friday, May 31st, so please note the change.

The committee has already confirmed contracts from last year's family owned award winning contractor Will Cook and the Flying C Rodeo Company of Madill, Oklahoma, Gizmo McCracken Clown Act, Carnivals and a sanctioned cook-off. The committee and City of San Saba are making plans to combine efforts for a street dance on Saturday night on the square after the Rodeo. As always, an added incentive for attendance will be the famous Rodeo "Bull Burgers"! The Rodeo once again will be sanctioned by the United Professional Rodeo Assn. (UPRA), The Cowboys Regional Rodeo Assn. (CRRA), and the Cowboys professional Rodeo Assn. (CPRA).

Be watching the mail for the Sponsorship Packets along with the Parade Entry Forms or maybe you will get a visit from one of the committee members.

None of this would be possible without the help of our wonderful sponsors! All monies raised go to the support of the youth in the county including purchasing animals at the Stock Show.
