A Biblical Gem By Jim Gage

I have finished a research on the words,( devil and devils), and was greatly surprised to find the word devil does not appear in the Old Testament of the King James Bible even one time, and the word, devils, appear only four times therein. Then I was further surprised to find the plural of (devils), appears 48 times in the New Testament and the single word, devil, appears 58 times.. After Jesus came to earth He often exposed the devil and gave strong warnings against him. We will quote scripture at random from the Old Testament to create Biblical revelations concerning devils; Deuteronomy 32:17 “They sacrificed unto devils, not to God.) + Psalms 106:37 “Yea, they sacrificed their sons and daughters unto devils.” Could this have been a form of abortion? And do today’s abortions result from the influence of devils? Now in the New Testament we find the words devil, and devils, mentioned so many times space permits printing of only a few. But it will definitely benefit anyone who finds Jesus’s warnings therein and embraces them. It is a fact, documented by scripture, that devils can invade, completely posses, and live in people and animals. It is most unfortunate that people can be devil possessed, and not know it. Devils can impose their desires upon their victims in various ways and cause them to do things they do not want to practice. Many rapes, murders, and terrorist acts belong in this category. Actuality, devils are invisible spirits that are alive and active. They can move about and change their place of habitation, but cannot function without a flesh body to live in and use to accomplish their objectives. It is interesting that all the evil spirits,(devils), that Jesus encountered knew Him and were afraid of Him. ( Luke 4:41, “And the devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ, the Son of God, and He rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that He was Christ).” + Mark 1:34 “And Jesus healed many that were sick of diver diseases: and cast out many devils, and suffered the devils not to speak, because they knew Him.) +

James 2:19 “Thou believest there is one God: thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble”. The scriptures are too numerous to mention where Jesus exercised His power to cast out devils and heal the sick, and it is always noted that they knew Him. It is refreshing to know Jesus can give His faithful followers power to: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils”. Matt.10:8 + Mark 3:15. Especially Mark 16:17. + Luke 9: 1. + Luke 10:17. There is a good message in 1 Corinthians 10:20-23.
