LCRA Board appoints new members to upper Basin Regional Council
Thursday, January 17, 2013 • Posted January 16, 2013

The LCRA Board of Directors has appointed new members to the LCRA Upper Basin Regional Council for terms beginning Jan. 1. The Upper Basin includes Bandera, Gillespie, Hamilton, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Mills and San Saba counties.

The Upper Basin Regional Council and three other councils from throughout the lower Colorado River basin provide important communication links between the Lower Colorado River Authority and the communities it serves.

The councils meet several times a year to discuss regional topics involving LCRA. Members pass along information to their local communities, and play key roles in providing feedback and helping LCRA identify and analyze regional issues.

The councils focus on regional issues related to LCRA’s mission to provide reliable, cost-effective electric, water and other public services of value and to be a responsible steward of the river and the basin’s natural resources. Combined, 120 people hold positions on the four councils. The appointees choose to serve two- or four-year terms.

“Each regional council is working well, providing us with much-appreciated information from the communities we serve,” said Heather Richardson, LCRA’s Public Affairs manager. “We look forward to continue sharing information and ideas that can help improve the quality of life for people who live in our service area. We know people are busy, and LCRA appreciates the time and effort each volunteer puts into being a Regional Council member. We welcome each new member.”

Appointees to the LCRA Upper Basin Regional Council include Darrin Barker and David Leonard (San Saba); Lampasas County Judge Wayne Boulting-house and Gilly Riojas (Lampasas); Walter Curry (Junction); Mills County Judge Kirk Fulk and Rob Lindsey (Goldthwaite); Allen Goodwin (Comfort); Mark Hahn (Mason); Roy B.
