Coleman Wesley “C.W.” Cox Sr.

Coleman Wesley “C.W.” Cox Sr., 79, of San Saba, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in San Saba. Graveside services were held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs,Texas.

C.W. was born on February 24, 1933, in Alpine, Texas, to Coleman Foster Cox Jr. and Mary (White) Cox. He married Mary Katherine Roberds on May 30, 1953, in Richland Springs. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sanderson, Texas.

C.W. graduated from Alpine High School in 1950. He then attended Sul Ross University where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Range Animal Science. He worked as a range conservationist with the Soil Conservation Service in Monahans and Colorado City. He also operated ranches in Brewster, Pecos, Terrell and San Saba Counties.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Randall Cox; and two sisters, Charlotte Cox Martin and Maudie Lou Cox Gober.

Survivors include wife, Mary Katherine (Roberds) Cox; two sons, Coleman Wesley, Jr., and Ervin Kelly Cox, both of Sanderson, Texas; one brother, Foster Cox of Fort Stockton, Texas; one brother-in-law, Bud Roberds, and wife Wanda, of Bowser Community; and several favorite nieces and nephews.

Services were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.
