Lewis O. Jones Jr. passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in the loving comfort of his family at the age of 84 years old.

Lewis was born on June 4, 1928 to the late Lewis O. Jones Sr. and Ola (Kegley) Jones in Temple, Texas. After graduating from Temple High School, Lewis joined the US Air Force. It was during his enlistment that he married the love of his life, Zolly Liles.

Lewis and Zolly were the proud parents of four beautiful children. After his service in the Air Force, Lewis worked for Champion Paper in Pasadena until his retirement in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his son Bradley, Jones.

Mr. Jones will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Zolly Liles Jones. Their love will live forever in her heart.

He also leaves behind to cherish his memories three children: Lewis O. “Chuck” Jones III, Julie Montgomery and Jane Townsend; four grandchildren: Marion Moore, Travis Jones, Riley and Meredith Montgomery; four siblings: Ola Maye Liles, Dorothy Fourmigue, Posey Martin, Sam Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the San Saba County EMS or First United Methodist Church, San Saba TX.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple on Saturday, January 5, 2013.
