Thursday, January 10, 2013 • Posted January 10, 2013

Longtime San Saba ISD Educator, George Dennis was honored with a luncheon provided by San Saba ISD staff and school board on Friday, December 21, 2012. Mr. Dennis is retiring from teaching after 54 years in the profession. This is actually the second retirement from SSISD for Mr. Dennis. Most recently, Mr. Dennis has been teaching the college level dual credit classes for San Saba ISD since his first retirement approximately 19 years ago.

Mr. Dennis has touched, inspired and educated generations of San Saba ISD students. As a memento, a book of appreciation letters from years of former students, from parents of students and from staff was compiled to provide Mr. Dennis a look at the influence he has had on generations of students.

To further recognize the contribution to science and to the students of San Saba ISD, the SSISD school trustees named the new San Saba High School science building in his honor. The new science building that is under construction will be named the George Dennis Science Center.

Mr. Dennis will be missed in the halls of SSHS, but his influence will be present in the students he impacted.

THANKS, Mr. Dennis!
