Dear Editor,

Several of the directors of the chamber were out and about Tuesday evening judging Christmas lights and decorations on homes and businesses. The first thing on the list was to go park at Mill Pond Park, change the radio dial to 88.7 and listen to the beautiful music and watch the fabulous Christmas lights. Thank you City of San Saba, Farrel Whitley and the crew at San Saba Parks Department.

To those of you who have not visited the park, please make the time to go, you don't want to miss it.

Then the judging began, thank you to everyone who took the time to put lights and decorations on your homes, your hard work was appreciated, everyone did a great job, there were many and it sure made it more difficult to judge, there were several more that deserved awards, but only 3 could be chosen, and they were:

1st place...Martha Leigh and Bob Whitten at 307 W. Commerce

2nd place...Michael and Kristen Nelson at 304 S. Riggs

3rd place...Lesa and Ronnie Schulz at 1201 W. Commerce

The same goes for the businesses, several very nicely decorated businesses, but we only have one perpetual trophy and it goes to City National Bank this year.

Thank you all for participating.

All up and down the streets, San Saba really looked pretty.

Merry Christmas from all of the directors at the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce.

Fern Reed

San Saba County Chamber of Commerce

Dear Editor,

To Farrel Whitley and the San Saba Parks Department:

A very special thanks for the spectacular synchronized lights and music display at Mill Pond Park. We wanted you to know how much we appreciate the “heavenly show”. We are sure that your efforts are greatly loved by all, but especially by those of us who are still children at heart. Thank you for your talent, your time, and the special undertaking you provided to the community.
