In the Same Boat
Thursday, December 27, 2012 • Posted December 26, 2012

Remember watching Gilligan’s Island? The blow-hard skipper, the brainy professor, the millionaire and his wife, the movie star, a plain Jane girl, and a bumbling first mate sounds a lot like society.

Shipwrecked on an island, they don’t always get along, they are not alike, but they all need each other. They have to work together to survive because they are all in the same boat.

The same can be said of the church. We need each other; we need to work together toward the common goal - because we are all in the same boat, in need of salvation.

Galatians 6:1-2: “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Let us work faithfully together toward the common goal!
