San Saba Freemasons to meet January 5th

On Saturday, January 5th 2013, the Freemasons of San Saba Lodge No. 612 will hold their monthly stated meeting. Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. and all Masons are asked to provide a complimentary covered side dish, bread, salad or dessert. The main course will be a chicken strip supper procided by Past Master Max B. Steger.

Family and guests are invited for the evening meal. Lodge will open around 7:00 p.m.

The Worshipful Master reminds all members to pay their 2013 dues of $65.00. Dues are due before December 31st. The Secretary wishes to remind all Masons to bring their community service information for November and December. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend.

In 2013, the Lodge will recognize two deserving members with their service awards. Forty Year Awards will be presented to C. Henry Reeves & Hugh V. Ketchum. The Grand Lodge of Texas will present one Sixty Year Award to Jack Blossman and one Sixty-Five Year Award to George M. Rogers.

The awards night is scheduled to take place at the stated meeting on February 2nd.

Notes From Grand Lodge

The Grand Lodge of Texas held its last communication in Waco the weekend of December 7th-8th. Representing the Lodge were Junior Walden, John D. Rhoades and the Lodge secretary. Some items of interest to the fraternity were the passing of several resolutions concerning membership. A deceased, life or 50 plus year member can now have an Endowed membership purchased at a fixed rate of $500. Also, Masons can now hold a membership in another grand jurisdiction (state).

The officers elected for the 2013 Grand Lodge were: Walter Rogers – Grand Master, Jerry L. Martin - Deputy Grand Master, Michael Wiggins- Grand Senior Warden, Archie Scott- Grand Treasurer, and Tommy D. Guest-Grand Secretary.

Officers of the 70th Masonic District (San Saba, Lampasas and Mills Counties) are Web K. Mays-District Instructor and Gary E. Farley-District Deputy Grand Master. Both are members of Goldthwaite Lodge No. 694.
