Also representing San Saba County at District Food Show were senior 4-H’ers ( L to R): Melanie Hedley, Brooke Esquivel and Courtney Hull. Hedley placed 6th in Senior Grains, Esquivel, 3rd in Senior Dairy and Hull 4th in Senior Fruit/Vegetable. The 4-H’ers were interviewed about MyPlate, the nutrients in their dish, food safety, food preparation and what they had learned in their foods & nutrition project this year. Erin Ratliff and Marissa Coffman-Spence participated in the Nutrition Exhibit category. Ratliff placed with a blue ribbon with her exhibit, Nutrition Benefits of Meat, intermediate category, and Spence placed with a second place ribbon with her senior exhibit entitled Super Snacks. Congratulations, girls!!!!
