OH, WHAT A RELIEF IT...

OH, WHAT A RELIEF IT WAS when the San Saba Garden Club decided that this hot summer called for an old-fashioned ice cream social. In preparation for the event at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, club members prettied up the place ( the clubhouse) with bright cut flowers, napkins and cool looking tall glasses ready for ice cream floats. Carton after carton of Blue Bell Vanilla and lime sherbet appeared to mix with root beer, coke or lemon/lime soda (you figure out the combinations – they were the classics!) as club members and guests enjoyed the cool treat and especially the fellowship. Guys as well as gals from around town visited and discussed the deep subject of how to make the best float – ice cream or soda first! Club members perused the latest draft of the 2012-2013 year which will be ready for our new club year which begins on September 4, 2012. If you weren’t there – wonder how many committees you are on?? Pictured above are happy guests Dianna Furlan of Lometa, Joanne Weik, Cynthia Weatherby and Leigh Ann Glaze.
