Three precious little girls with hearts the size of Texas sold lemonade and cookies last Saturday, June 9, in front of Cherokee Grocery. Kyler Bordner, Kendall Johnson, and Landry Poss joined hands to help less fortunate children. They were raising money for The Hope Factory, a non-profit corporation run by John and Mary Catherine Holley of Cherokee. Proceeds will go to support the Valley of Truth Learning Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, a Christian primary school serving and teaching orphans and other disadvantaged children in the slums of the city. They raised $182.63. Kyler is the daughter of Paul & Jennifer Bordner of Cherokee; Kendall is the daughter of Rodney & Tracy Johnson of Cherokee; and Landry is the daughter of Brent & Renae Poss of Spring Branch. John & Mary Catherine will spend the next two months in Kenya, living and working at the school, speaking in churches, searching for a permanent building site, and planning for the future of the school.
