Brister Family does well in New Mexico elk hunt
Thursday, October 20, 2011 • Posted October 20, 2011

Jackie & Charlene Brister, daughters & son-in-laws Dr. Marilyn Brister & Carl Adams and Shari & Steve Raesz, Phillip & Bobbie Morris, and Wayland & Mary Ann Perry, have been on an adventure! This year’s elk hunting trip was planned by Jackie & Mary Ann, to Northern New Mexico in high elevation near Chama. The camping was wonderful but hampered by 5 hours of rain one night, freezing temperatures every night (down to 13 degrees one night!), and 6-1/2" of snow one night. A campfire was going 24 hours a day the entire time we were there! Jackie & Steve were both successful in each harvesting a nice elk. Wayland & Phillip were waiting for the biggest bull of the forest, but he never answered the call. There was so much laughter, Carson National Forest will never be the same!
