True Cowboy Stories by Travis Herring is a book about old time cowboys from this area. One, Bill Lewis, Sandra Baskin's dad is a good example of the interesting stories. Others are all the way back to the Chisholm trail days, with history of how they lived, farmed and ranched. Fiction is fiction, history has been told over and over, but True Cowboy Stories is mostly first hand and never before been in print.
