Robert Thompson Barber (1832 – 1920) of Cherokee, Texas was the son of Scottish immigrants that came from Tennessee just after Texas declared its independence from Mexico. He served the Confederate States of America in Co. "A" Morgan's Texas Cavalry and was a charter member and Past Master of the first Masonic lodge (No. 225) in San Saba.
