Thursday, January 15, 2009 • Posted January 15, 2009

It’s Stock Show time once again in San Saba County. The 77th Annual San Saba County Livestock Show will be held January 15th, 16th and 17th at the county livestock show barn. The 4-H and FFA members from Cherokee, Richland Springs, and San Saba have been working hard since the start of the school year with their projects hoping to win one of the top prizes. These young exhibitors would like to invite all parents, grandparents, teachers, businesses and the general public to come out to the show barn to watch them exhibit their projects.

The weighing in of sheep, goats, and swine will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, followed by the steers and heifers at 5:30 p.m. The steer and heifer show will be held on Thursday night and the swine, lamb and goat shows will be on Friday the 16th.

A major change this year will be in the auction sale on Saturday. The auction sale will be held in the San Saba High School Cafeteria at 1: 00 p.m. A meal will be furnished for the buyers beginning at 12 noon followed by the auction sale.

It will be a busy week for the exhibitors, parents and adult leaders. Come out and watch the show and sale this week and support the exhibitors of San Saba County.
