Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, January 1, 2009 • Posted January 1, 2009

We have arrived at the end of the old year and the new one begins on Thursday.

We had no rain at all in December. That brings our years’ total to 17.7 inches. It is hard to imagine that we received 46.5 last year. This is the driest year we have had in 25 years. We had 18.4 in 1983. Let’s all be in prayer for rain in the coming year.

The 42 tournament will be Jan. 10th at Elm Grove. The Busy Bee quilters will meet on Jan. 13th, Fay Lusty will bring a quilt to be worked on.

The Elm Grove community meeting will be Jan 17th and officers will be elected at that time. Hostesses will be Wanda Dennis and Nelda Teague. Please make plans to be there.

There were 18 of us gathered here at our house on Christmas Eve. They were Rex and Amy Tucker; Jax, Georgia and Jesse from Brady; Ken and Lanell Parson; Theron, Kelton and Hannah from Bangs; Bethany Suber from Dublin; Stacie Smith and Santos Elizondo and his parents, Nonie and Santos Elizondo from San Angelo; Michael and Marilyn Suber and myself. On Christmas Day Michael, Marilyn, Bethany and I went to the Parson’s house in Bangs to celebrate the day.

Charlie and Kitty Cummings had as Christmas guests, Wiley and Tara Cummings; Kiley, Karter, Kinley and Kreed from Petersburg; and Andy Cummings.

Hopefully I will be getting some calls this week telling about some of the other folks holiday gatherings.

We wish all of you a Very Safe and Happy New Year!
