2 PETER 2-20-21 " For after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the HOLY commandment delivered to them.
This great message was given to PETER.

I realize most of you look forward to the cooler temperatures and that is because you guys fall into the normal people category. I suppose it doesn’t surprise you one bit that I, on the other hand, run for the blankets when the thermometer dips below 70 degrees. To say I don’t enjoy cold weather is like saying I don’t enjoy being dragged across a bed of nails on my knees while wearing shorts.

Are you a good shopper? One of the characteristics of a good grocery shopper would be a label reader. Food labels are placed on the package for a reason. They are a helpful tool to see what ingredients are in the can, package or box. Sometimes we are in a hurry and don’t take the time to read a label.

On a TV show I was watching recently, a man came to town looking for his daughters. They had moved away and started a new life and did not want him included in it. They had changed their names and were respectable people in the community. He came to town one day, recognized his girls and they just tried to ignore him.
Eventually they did recognize their father and were to begin a relationship.

One summer years ago I worked on a pulling unit in the oilfield. I worked with a man that liked to visit the local beerjoint every evening. One problem he had was his wife and mother-law did not like him to drink. When he came home he would be drunk and it made his wife mad.

Barbers trim a man’s sideburns and the hair of his neck with shaving cream and a straight razor.
Once I was in a barber shop and noticed the barber had shaky hands. In order to use the straight razor, he had to hold his razor with his other hand in order to keep it steady as he was trimming.
Every time a man got in his chair, he had to have faith the barber would not cut his throat.

I can almost understand the misuse of diffuse in the following example, "In an argument, Macy does his best to diffuse the situation with humor." Diffuse means "to spread around," but it sounds mighty close to the better word choice, defuse, which means "to remove the fuse from, or to reduce the danger or tension."
Next is cavalry/Calvary.

Our fall equinox arrived to announce the beginning of the new season, but someone forgot to pass on the news! It appears summer is not about to give up its hold on this poor country. It makes me sad to see so many cows at the auctions and even worse to see them headed out of town after the sale.
