One thing my grandmother would always ask my brother and me if someone gave us something no matter how big or small was, "did you say thank you?" I can still here her words today or am still reminded of what she would make us do. If we did not she would take us back to the person who gave us something even if it was our parents and wait for us to, "thank you".

To a waterfowl hunter, a duck band is a treasured find. Affixed to a duck call lanyard, these rare small metal rings become testaments of the hunter’s skill or luck and reinforce the conservation success story they represent. In the Lone Star State, agriculture employs one in seven working Texans. Our farmers and ranchers are responsible for supplying us with the safest, most reliable and most affordable food supply in the world. However, with the average Texas farmer being 59-years-old, and the world population expected to reach 9.1 billion by 2050, filling the boots of retired farmers should be of concern to all Texans. The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is in the process of recruiting new farmers on-line.

Summer! Just the mere thought of it excites most students, yet concerns many parents (and for good reason). Summer is a known time for increased alcohol, marijuana and other drug use, including first-time experimentation. What sets this season apart? Increased-Unsupervised-Free-Time. At this transitional age, our children naturally seek their independence and our trust.
