It was totally white with lots of hair. I knew it was not mine because I do not have any hair goats but my neighbor across the highway does.

Once again, we missed out on the rain which fell not too far from us. Fortunately, we have also missed out on the severe thunderstorms with hail and wind damage. We didn’t have a cold spell for Easter like we have had in the past.
After church on Sunday, we drove to Voca and had our Easter gathering with Rex and Amy Tucker and family at their new property.

On the night of the Sate of the Union address, President James Allaire expects to give the speech of his career. But no one foresees the horrific turn of events that lead him to quarantine everyone in the Capitol building.
A terrorist group calling itself Genesis has unleashed a highly contagious virus into the building, and the only one who fully knows its deadly consequences is the president himself.

The Bible acknowledges that we will grieve. It is silly to suggest that we should not. The great saints of the Bible knew grief.
Jacob "mourned for his son many days" (Genesis 37:34).
Abraham mourned the passing of Sarah (Genesis 23:2).
Isaac was still grieving three years after his mother’s death (Genesis 24:67).
David wept when his friend Jonathan died (2 Samuel 1:12).
Job rent his robe and shaved his head at the loss of his children (Job 1:20) ...

Last time I wrote about rumored free money for college and the bitter pill of truth that many parents and students find themselves swallowing over the summer following high school graduation. Now I want to say some truthful things about college in general. I believe I am qualified to say these things as a college graduate, a former college professor, and the parent of a college student.
First, it would be helpful to remember that colleges are businesses—BIG businesses, in fact.

At the summit meeting in Vienna, Jimmy Carter gave Communist Brezhnev a pair of porcelain "Doves of Peace." They were passing an olive branch from one to the other.
But sometimes the "Doves of Peace" turn out to be white washed ravens.
All of us are for summit meetings. But greater than a summit meeting is a Savior meeting.
It was Herbert Hoover who said, "Peace isn't made at the council tables, or by treatise, but in the hearts of men."

The wind was still around all day Sunday. Monday morning a light mist came for just a minute or two, not enough to even call it a sprinkle.

Russ and I just returned from Dallas and a happy Easter dinner with the family. We went to the biggest cowboy church in Texas. I can well believe that. The cars were lined up for at least ½ mile waiting to get into the church parking lot. They had to wait for the early service to empty out before they would let the second service enter.

It’s a sure bet that most of us find it truly amazing that we’re
merely a few days from May Day, and we are still looking for those April showers. Looking around the County, we might also be wondering at the fact of the pastures still showing some effort of a greening effect, as well as the wheat fields still finding some way of surviving with the very minimum amount of moisture.
