Back in my grade school days you were told to clean the blackboards if you didn’t do your work or obey the teacher. Every time you did something wrong (breaking the rules) our teacher would write your name in the upper right hand corner of the blackboard. Mine was usually up there for talking and I had to stay in at recess and clean the blackboards.

We had 1.6 inches of rain last week which we were really in need of. Now old man winter has hit us full force. There were only two tables of 42 players at the tournament last Saturday night and I’m sorry to say, I don’t know who won it. The next tournament will be February 12 at Shiloh. Reading Recommendations: Chosen, a novel, Chandra Hoffman It all begins with a fantasy: the caseworker in her "signing paperwork" charcoal suit standing along side beaming parents cradling their adopted newborn, set against a fluorescent-lit delivery room backdrop. James 5:16: The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Prayer should be an important part of our lives. God has given us all things. He loves us and knows our needs before we even ask Him. We need to acknowledge God and pray to Him through Jesus Christ. Simple prayers from our heart reach Him.

As is my habit, I was watching CBS Sunday Morning yesterday and one of their feature stories was on an anti-bullying program at a middle school in Nebraska. As you likely know, school bullying is a hot topic currently, especially since the suicide death of the Rutgers University student and the subsequent New Jersey law against bullying. I have had a good bit of experience with school bullying, having been a glasses-wearing, quiet kid when I was in school, and as a teacher in my adul ...

Media could but "hit the high spots" of this true Christian statesman. The death of Tom Vandergriff, a beloved figure for more than a half century and a respected patriarch for decades, triggered immediate tributes.
