ECCLESIASTES 11:7 "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was and the spirit shall return unto God Who gave it."
Since the beginning of time for man there has been an ongoing debate concerning what happens at the death of this temporary life of flesh and blood.

The growing violence in Mexico has become one of the most pressing national security issues in America today. In Texas, with more than 1,200 miles of the nation’s 2,000 mile southern border, we bear the brunt of the security burden, and our border communities increasingly face the threats of crossover violence.

All of us know it is important to eat your vegetables. Didn’t our mothers always tell us to eat our vegetables! But did you understand that you need a variety of vegetables of several different colors. It is not enough just to sip orange juice every morning or have the same salad for lunch every day.

My daughter lost her phone the other day. It was a simple phone that she got from Cingular before they were bought out by AT&T. She could not take pictures, get on the internet to read her email or any of the things the newer phones can do. She really liked that phone but, now it’s gone.
Have you ever lost something and felt really sad?

Not only have I usually been my toughest critic, I have also been one of those women who has been equally critical of other women. After reading some of the negative movie reviews of Eat, Pray, Love, I find there is no shortage of women who are harshly critical of other women.
I decided some time ago that I didn’t want to be this kind of woman anymore.

Dove season is here, bringing the sights and sounds we expect every September: The sound of shotgun blasts; camo-dressed people in the restaurants, grocery stores, downtown shops, gas stations, and convenience stores; pickups parked along the edge of fields; trucks and trailers loaded down with UTVs and ATVs; and a general air of excitement.

With the rapid growth of urbanization these days, people are coming into contact with wild animals more frequently than ever. This means that our domesticated animals are coming into contact with them as well, which can sometimes pose a dangerous situation.
If you own a smaller animal such as a cat or smaller breed of dog especially, it is important to stay mindful of any signs hinting to the presence of wild animals near your home.
"It happens quite frequently that domestic ...

Well, it's a beautiful rainy day in the neighborhood and I, for one, am looking forward to the cooler weather. I am so looking forward to dove season and the first real cold front. Well, that is until I'm standing on the side of the road somewhere shivering to death and wishing for warmer weather.

A man was wheeled into the operating room. Everything was in readiness for his surgery.
Just as the surgeon was about to make the incision, he noticed a paper taped to the patient's body. bending over, he read one word: "Think."
That's good advice for all of us.
But someone has said, "Five percent of the people think, ten percent think they think, and the rest would rather die than think."
Thoughts are powerful.

In January 1610 Galileo began using his newly invented telescope to observe the planets. After discovering Jupiter has moons, he must have been anxious to see what Venus might reveal.
After all, the goddess of love and beauty was the most brilliant of all the planets and its pattern of appearances was mystifying.

There’s more than 150 miles of rugged Hill Country and sprawling prairie between the Highland Lakes and Matagorda Bay, but the fate of the two is closely linked.
That’s because the bay’s prolific estuaries rely on freshwater from lakes Travis and Buchanan to maintain healthy habitat for the countless shorebirds, fish and marine life that depend on them.

Building Christian character in our children is the most important gift we can give. Teaching by example is the best way to help them learn. There are many role models in the Bible. God has given us many heroes. Their stories all reflect how our heavenly father guided them to rely on him to make the right choices.

A recent study from the St. Louis University Medical School revealed that nearly 53 percent of skin cancers in the US occur on the left, or drivers’ side of the body. With approximately 208 million licensed drivers in the US, people need to take precautions wherever they can.

Where were you on 10-07-1933?
This was probably before most of you were born. The title of this article and the above question played a key role in my 2010 Big 12 football predictions. Most of the prognosticators, Dave Campbell and others, picked the Nebraska Cornhuskers to win the Big 12 North.
The first and only time Nebraska defeated the Texas Longhorns in Lincoln, Nebraska was 10-07-1933.

For the 2nd time this season, the Cherokee Indians have faced a top 25 opponent and given them all they could handle. The Indians dropped a heartbreaker to the Loraine Bulldogs, 26-28, as the Indian’s final play from scrimmage came up just yards short as the clock ran out. Penalties and missed blocking assignments cost the Indians precious yards against a bigger, hard hitting Loraine team.

I am worried about my 8-year-old daughter. She seems depressed, and distant. I have to work during the evenings so she is home with her dad and 1-year-old brother. When I get home from work, she’s already in bed. I feel guilty that I have to work, however we cannot afford a babysitter for me to be home in the evening.
