A little south of us is a rock. Actually there are a lot of rocks, but I am speaking of Enchanted Rock. Many people have made the trip to Enchanted Rock to climb on it, explore it, or to walk around it. I have been up it several times.
This rock is hard.

We spent this fourth weekend in a little different way. One of our sons changed jobs and he and his family were moving to another town about 100 miles away so we volunteered or maybe we were drafted to help with the move. We spent some time keeping the grand children and we also helped with some of the loading.

A boy and a girl, both scuba divers, were married under water.
But that's not too startling, for many newlyweds "get in over their heads."
To keep your heads above water: live love, bear and forbear, be courteous and not curt, give and forgive, fight for each otherr and not with each other, pray and play together.
Above all, invite the Lord Jesus into your hearts and home.

The practice of inventing constellations, those imaginary patterns among the stars, predates recorded history and has been done by people around the world. In 140 CE, astronomer Claudius Ptolemy of Alexandria, in his book, The Almagest, listed 48 constellations which came to be the accepted list throughout the Mediterranean region for the next 1,500 years.
During the 16th-18th centuries, as Europeans began exploring the Southern Hemisphere, they saw new and unfamiliar regions of the ...

Blame can be contagious — a conclusion reached by a recent study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology. This was no surprise to me, since we live in a culture of blame and see "blame" played out in the news every day.
I dare say we’ve all pointed fingers at some point in time to a person, place or thing as an excuse for our misery or a problem.

Love is a complicated thing. We think in terms of feelings. Hormones get the best of us. When the feelings flee, love vanishes. We respond by saying, "I don’t love her any more." Love is a lot more than palpitating hearts and flushed faces. The Bible defines love in terms of God.

The rain did fall, leaving over an inch of rain and more some places in the county. It was a very welcome sight. It didn’t put a damper on the fourth’s display of fireworks, as they could be seen and heard going off around the Bend. The rain sure helped in keeping down fires, which made for a happy fourth.
Tommie Cobern reported that her daughter Tanya and her husband Jeff and grand daughter Ashley Chalfant of Cedar Park visited over the weekend.

This was a happy sad week to say the least. The three days of rain in the middle of summer were a delight and blessing. Unfortunately, it caused the postponement of our 4th of July celebrations. Russ was changing out some lights in the basement when Bro. Barry came by to say it looked as if things would have to be put off for a week.

Dear Editor,
I am Jim Gage and I will soon be 92 years old. That gives me first hand information of what age can do to a person's mind and memory. It is not good... I also know the same thing happens to all of our government elected officials. I believe it becomes pure stupidity on a national level to leave them in office after opportunity and ability has faded from them; due to their old age.
