The 100-year celebration at the Bend Methodist church had a big turn out Sunday. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs announced the state collected $1.68 billion in sales tax revenue in April, up 1.4 percent compared to April 2009. The Science Fair at San Saba Elementary was a huge success! The displays were some of the best we have ever seen, and the enthusiasm was catching. The overall entry winner was 4th grader Joshua Lambert. Judging for the overall entry was based on creativity, display, and oral presentation of information.

Troy High School senior Brittany Ellis has won the Texas High School Rodeo Association Region X All-Around Cowgirl title for 2010.
