I like a good meal. I have one of the best cooks in Cherokee. I enjoying eating all kinds of foods. Soon we will be sharing in a thanksgiving meal. Many people will have turkey and dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls of some kind, pies, etc. My mouth is watering just thinking about it (I also believe I gained a pound).

I know I’m just 37 and haven’t "seen it all", but being the son of a coach/superintendent and an elementary teacher (each of 30 plus years), I feel I have experienced my fair share of educational/athletic experiences. This is my 15th year in education and I have another 15 or so to go, but I don’t think I will ever see again what has happened here in San Saba, Tx., since Aug.

A little girl came to church crying. "What's wrong?" asked the pastor.
"The Lord's gone!" sobbed the girl. "I dialed 'The Lord' on the telephone and the operator said, 'There's nobody at that number.'"
Cheer up, little girl. The Lord isn't gone. You're simply on the wrong line.
He promises, "Call upon Me, and I will answer Thee."
You can call upon the Lord when you have a sudden need and receive a swift answer.
You'll always find the Lord waiting to an ...

Many countries do not celebrate it but it has been a great tradition in our country. Many times it is upon us and we hardly have time to catch our breath. We hurriedly try to buy groceries and prepare the food or throw some clothes in a bag and jump in the car to go visit relatives and in the turmoil we do not get time to reflect on our lives.

The old weatherman was right on target once again, as the rain came as predicated leaving over 2 ½ inch of rain around the Bend. North of Bend on 580 reports of 1.8 inch was all that fell. The cool cloudy weather that followed was nice for the hunters as the deer seemed to be up and moving.
LaNell Daniels reported that Thomas and Sheila Smithhart donated a large Christmas tree to the Bend Community Center, complete with lights.

First off, we are going to say "excellent job Dillos". I know that the Dillos came up a little short Friday night in that exciting game against Cisco, but man did they represent San Saba proudly. It's one thing to coach winning and losing, but it's another to put on the display of sportsmanship that the Dillos have put on their entire year.
