The best news of the week is the good rain we had early Sunday morning about 3 o’clock. My rain spotter at Elm Grove says we had 1 inch out there. That is good news! Maybe we caught a little bit of tank water.
The rain came and went, then the sun came out and we had perfect weather for Easter Sunday.

Everything is really pretty and green following the rain on Easter weekend and last Thursday and Friday. I heard they had good rains out at Elm Grove. We have had about two inches all together here in Richland.
Some of the prettiest bluebonnets are along FM 765 but they are not as plentiful as they have been in recent years.

Dear Editor,
On April 28, it will be a year since I moved to San Saba. My wife of many years had died, I was heartsick over that, and I needed a place to heal. I was weary of the city and wanted to live where I could see God's stars at night.

A mother found her little girl crying, "What's wrong?" she asked.
"I was thinking," she sobbed, "I might grow up and get married. And I might have a little girl, and she might break a leg."
Like that little girl, many worry so much about the future, that they can't enjoy the present.
Worry doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only of its strength.

Everyone was talking about the bountiful rain that fell Friday. Reports of up to two inches were reported around the Bend. Jolene Lively reported that at her place the hail was plentiful and big. Closer to Bend reports of pea size hail and not much of that. No damage to plants was reported.

What a view! I looked out this morning and the view was stunning. Our recent rains have made this new green. The whole view is clean and crisp. I love it! I hope this will help all the farmers and ranchers. Times have sure been tough for them lately. Maybe we can get enough rain to let them put up some hay for the winter.
I attended the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday.

It might be a pretty sure bet that most of you have been enjoying the pleasant spring days, lately, near as much as the rest of our folks. The forecasters seem to surmise that the likelihood of a late freeze or frost has probably passed us by, and I’d probably concur on that one as Easter has also passed over.
