Luke 11:1 "His disciples said unto Him, Lord teach us to pray."
Luke 11:2: And He said unto them, "When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth."
These scriptures to be our text for a Biblical Gem to follow are probably thought of and partially spoken, millions and millions of times, by millions of people every day.

If your family is apart during an emergency, a communication plan can help you contact each other.
Part 1: Pick 2 meeting places. Choose a place where everyone will meet if you all have to leave your home quickly. It should be near your home, but a safe distance away.
For example, choose a streetlight a few doors down or a mailbox on the corner.

Children love to play in the dirt. There just seems to be something about getting a bowl, putting dirt in it, adding a little water and then baking mud pies. Yum, Yum! You do remember those days don’t you? Making the pies were the fun part; eating them got a little nasty.

The best news of the week is the good rain which we received last week. Altogether we had 3.8 inches here in Richland Springs and my rain spotter at Elm Grove tells me we had 4.1 inches up that way. It sure was welcome. The vegetation is already getting greener and some of the tanks caught at least a little water.

A whole host of folks should be absolutely elated by the fact that it rained before St. Patrick’s Day. You see, it’s been said that once it rains a lot of people will try to take credit for the rain coming to our fair Valley of the Pecan. St. Patrick’s Day & the Irish are fabled for the “Luck”, so we certainly feel a lot more lucky than we were prior to precipitation.

Dear Editor,
Well, here we are, nearly a week into daylight saving time and most of us have adjusted about as well as we're going to. The point is, we shouldn't have to adjust. Everyone that I've heard express an opinion says we (they) should just pick a time and stick with it.

It was a cold winter morning and we had a long way to go. She kept lagging behind the rest of the sheep. I got close enough to where I could see and there was an old woolly ewe with one of the sweetest looking newborn lambs. We traveled in thick underbrush and at other times climbing up and down the steep rocky hills but she was being very careful to keep it with her and protect it.

What a blessing that rain was last week! We received over four inches. It didn’t run too much water; the land was way too dry and thirsty, but it soaked down into the soil. Now my fruit trees will grow and the oaks may live through the summer. I can remember just laying quietly listening to the beautiful sound on the roof.

A long-time girls softball pitching instructor from Llano, Rex Wootan, has now stepped forward to offer training to San Saba girls who are interested in the most important position on the field, the pitcher spot.
