1 CORINTHIANS 13:9-12 "Now we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part is done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became as a man, I put away childish things.

February is American Heart Month. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. In 2002, President Bush proclaimed February American Heart Month. It is during this month that we should review the risk factors for heart disease, the warning signs of a heart attack and check our personal habits to assure we are doing everything possible to keep our hearts healthy.

When you hear the word above what comes to your mind? Are you reminded of the “razor sharp” memory you possessed as a youth (if you are mature in years?) Does some moment in the past come to mind of a happier day? Do you remember what it was like to have a youthful body that was able to leap over tall buildings?

It is on this Saturday, February 14, Valentines Day that we remember or think of the people that are special to us. It may be for a certain special someone or a wife or husband. It could be for a child, grandchild, family member, relative, friend or it might be for all of the above.
Many years ago it started with little love notes sent in the shape of a heart and secretly passed on to that special person.

You will recall that ol’ adage of “All good things will come, in time”, so I’d suppose some finally did. Speaking of the rain, shower, or whatever you’d like to call it, that we got earlier in the week, was nearly a tad too late for a lot of our purpose, however, still very welcome.

Dear Editor,
San Saba County EMS... Looking Back and Moving Forward.
It is often said that in order to know where you are going, you must know where you have been. This is an old adage that applies equally to organizations and individuals alike. It is likely that you will see in the coming future, if you have not already done so, flyers, brochures, and articles, concerning our local EMS service and its urgent needs.

Well for once the weathermen predication came through for us. R.J. Henniger reported that he had received seven tenth’s inches of rain early Monday morning. If the weather stays warm just maybe, some green stuff will start to show up in the pastures. At least the dust has been settled for the next week or so if the winds will die down and not dry up the moisture.
Bad Bob’s Bend store has started their regular store hours this month.

You can be assured I have had an exciting week. I’ve been introduced to the EMT service and the Brownwood Hospital. Country ambulances are a little different from their city cousins. You don’t have to avoid silly deer who become fascinated with flashing lights! I must take the time to thank the team with Nancy Ragsdale, who came out to my place Thursday, in the wee hours of the morning to rescue me.

We only played one game this week since Tuesday was a bye for us. We traveled to Comanche to play one of our last games of the season.
We started off a little rocky in the 1st quarter and continued to look the same way in the 2nd quarter. At halftime I tried to settle the girls down and tell them we just need to play “our” game and we would be right back in the game.
