One of the smallest words in our vocabulary is the word “If.” If always carries a condition with it. When you tell your child, “If you will keep your room clean for one week, I will give you a new bike.” For the child to receive the bike, the room would have to be clean each and every day.

100 Years Ago Nov. 12,1908 The Commissioner's Court last Tuesday purchased an improved Burroughs Adding Machine. This will no doubt prove a good investment as it will save much time for the commissioners in checking the tax-assessor's rolls and the tax-collector's monthly reports especially. Usually county commissioners are men not accustomed to adding long columns of figures and it is slow work for them.

Two little girls were talking about God. "I know God doesn't hear my prayers, " cried one. "He couldn't care for such a little girl like me." "That's what God's for," said the other, "to take care of little girls like us who can't take care of themselves." No child is too small to talk to God, and no adult is too old.
