Last week was one that was rather stormy for our area. Many of us were in Brady at a camp retreat. The weather rolled in and it was sometimes scary. The wind blew, the trees swayed and, yes, there was some rain. On Tuesday morning at about 4:30 a.m. we all gathered in a central area as tornado warnings were given and we needed to find a shelter.
It was good to find a shelter and to think that it was a safe place in a storm.

That marriage to Merrill Lynch and former Goldman Sachs investment banker Robert Kissel, ended abruptly one November night in 2003 in the bedroom of their luxury apartment high above Hong Kong's glittering ...

It looks like we’ve gotten the Easter Holiday weekend behind us & it usually splits some of the Spring Break off-weeks for surrounding schools. I would imagine that most of the parents were ready for their kids to get back to class, however we are not so sure as to the attitude of the instructors.

Last week I received a call from a local pastor and he asked me what I was doing. I told him I was doing the same thing he does every Sunday morning, feeding sheep.
While we were feeding that day I began to notice something. A large majority of the sheep that came up to get the feed were looking good.

After February 17, 2009, full-power television stations will broadcast in digital only. In 1996, the U.S. Congress authorized the distribution of an additional broadcast channel to each broadcast TV station so that they could start a digital broadcast channel while simultaneously continuing their analog broadcast channel. Later, Congress mandated that February 17, 2009, would be the last day for full-power television stations to broadcast in analog.

We registered .6 of an inch of rain Saturday night bringing the total for March to 3.7 inches compared to 7.8 at this time last year. The vegetation is really getting green and the mesquite leaves are coming out so I guess we can say spring is here. You wouldn’t have thought so yesterday (Easter Sunday), though.

The weatherman knew what he was talking about since everyone at the Bend woke up Easter Sunday to the sounds of rain drops, cold and just one-tenth of an inch. Just enough moisture to put an end to early morning Easter egg hunting. The rabbit had to wait until Sunday afternoon before the eggs could be hunted.
Gary and Julia Jones of Mesquite came in Wednesday and stayed until Friday with his mother Barbara Jones.

What a lovely spring break we just finished! The weather was perfect for outdoor activities; we had just enough rain to give the crops a chance to live, and then came Easter Sunday. This was an early Easter and Old Man Winter had to remind us that his watch is not done yet!

Spring fever has hit! It is getting harder and harder to keep kids in the classroom as the warm weather sets in and as spring events take students to various extra curricular events. It is hard to get up and come to school after a late night on a bus traveling to an out of town event or a late night at a home ballgame.
