Wade Hibler, Burnet Co. Extension Agent and former San Saba resident, will discuss pruning techniques at the next Lunch & Learn scheduled for Wednesday February 20th, 12 noon at the Civic Center. The meeting is open to the public at no charge. A light lunch will be served by the FCS Committee and the Extension Education Council.

The San Saba Police Department and the District Attorney's Office were in court on February 11th. They were prepared for another jury trial on illegal narcotics. Elise Landerous Huron of San Saba was charged with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). Huron pled guilty to both charges and received five years in prison for each charge.

On Wednesday, February 6th, a "911" call sent San Saba Police Department and San Saba EMS and Fire to Eventide Nursing Home. There, a small fire had started in the attic located in the northeast wing of the building. However, Cox Fire Service and Repair, on location for a service call, quickly extinguished the blaze before it got out of control. Chief Riggs and Officer Brown arrived on scene and noted smoke billowing from the northeast side of the building.

San Saba High School Dilloettes traveled to Round Rock on February 2nd to compete in the Prestige Dance Competition. The girls worked hard prior to competition to makiesure they represented San Saba as champions. The girls competed against other high school drill teams and professional dance companies. There were over 185 dances performed that Saturday.
