News From Cherokee ISD

By Kari Owen

With the football boys taking a breather this week before district begins, the girls participated in a powder puff football game. This is a tradition carried out by the Junior class each year in order to raise money for prom. It was the Seniors/Freshman versus the Juniors/Sophomores. The coaches were Brycen Gartman and Ryan Johnson for the Senior/Freshman. Carter Wisdom and Chase Spellman were the Juniors/Sophomore coaches. The score was not officially kept as this was just a fun event but the Seniors/Freshman won the game! We want to thank all staff, parents and students who attended and helped make this a great event. A special thanks goes to Barbara Stockon, junior class sponsor, for putting this event together! The football boys will be back this week taking on Mullin. The junior high game will be here and the high school game will be in Mullin. Support our Indians!
