JV Lady Dillos had two close games last week

The JV Lady Dillos fought back from a 10 point deficit, twice, to defeat a scrappy five player squad in Meridian on Tuesday, January 7th, 43-42. Sophomore, Micah Cox was the team leader in points, deflections and steals with 15, 8 and 6 respectively. She also had 2 assists and 4 rebounds. Our other Sophomore, Katy Ingram had a solid game with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 deflections, 3 assists and 2 steals.

San Saba Middle School UIL Results

San Saba Middle School competed in UIL competition on December 3rd and 5th. The fifth grade students traveled to Meridian for their competition and sixth, seventh and eighth graders competed in Goldthwaite. San Saba was well represented with a total of 85 students competing in UIL Academics this year. As a team the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students were ranked 3rd overall with many students receiving medals

News From Cherokee ISD

Winter welcomed us back from the break in a big way. BRRR! I hope everyone had a wonderful break and enjoyed some rest and relaxation. I know many people were sick so hopefully we are all over it and ready to start the second half of the school year happy and healthy

Armadillo Basketball Report

The Armadillo basketball team had a busy week of basketball last week, but it was well worth it with the Armadillos winning five games last week. We started the week off by hosting Lometa on Dec. 31. Lometa was ranked #17 in the 1A Small School Division

Richland Springs Junior High District UIL results

Richland Springs Junior High students traveled to Eden on December 11 to compete in their District Academic UIL meet. Students may earn awards and points both individually and as  academic teams, similar to the
scoring system in track. To earn points as a team, there must be a minimum number of students from one school entering the event

Richland Springs Elementary Students attend District UIL Academic Meet

Richland Springs Elementary students journeyed to Menard to compete at the District Academic UIL Meet on December 10. Second graders who attended the meet were Savannah Garcia, Ryleigh Bryant, Jayden Sutherland, Kenzie Gossett, Jacob Sweeney, and Carolina Greenwood.

San Saba Literacy Project hosts reading night and and announces December winners

Article.....The San Saba Literacy Panel hosted a reading night with Santa and Mrs. Clause on Thursday, December 12th in the San Saba Elementary Library. Over sixty students were present and left with books, ornaments, 
cookies, and hot chocolate! The event was a targeting literacy in the homes for students ages 0-7. Students came and listened to Mrs. Clause read a few stories and then they participated in ornament  making, Christmas card
coloring and eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate. Of course the main draw was Mr. and Mrs. Clause.

Armadillo Basketball Report

We played two regular season games last week. We went back to Menard for a rematch with them Dec. 17, and traveled to Mason on Dec. 20 to wrap up our season before the Christmas Break.  The Menard game was a
rematch from the Championship game of their tournament in which Menard won 59-56. This one had a little different ending.

Lady Dillo Basketball Report

The Lady Dillos traveled to Rochelle last Tuesday night to play a very solid Lady Hornet team. We were in control for the majority of the 32 minutes of play; we were just never able to deliver the knockout punch and pull away. We didn’t have one of our better shooting nights, but I was very proud of our defensive play

San Saba Lady Dillo Junior Varsity Basketball Update

The 2013-14 Lady Dillo Junior Varsity Basketball team defeated Ingram, 47 -21 on Thursday, November 7 at home in the Armadillo Arena. Freshman, Saveria Vasquez led her team in scoring with 16 points, followed by  Sophomore, Micah Cox with 11 points. Freshman, Kimeri Moore chipped in 6 and Sophomore, Maddie Nettleship and Freshman, Raley Kirk each scored 5 points
