Upcoming Allied Health Programs at LCHEC

The Lampasas County Higher Education Center (LCHEC) is registering now for allied health programs leading to certification. LCHEC allied health programs are approved and regulated by Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges. LCHEC accepts MyCAA for these programs.

After the first round of District play, the San Saba Lady Dillo Golf Team is 4 strokes back, soundly in second. We are trailing Mason currently, but have the first and second place golfer.

Oliver bounces from Texas AA State Tournament to NCAA DII National Tournament

It was only four years ago, during the 2011 state basketball tournament at the Erwin Center that the Lady Dillos and Haylee Oliver were battling Brock for a chance to play in the state championship game. For all the Dillo fans that attended, that game will not easily be forgotten.

San Saba Tennis Team comes in 12th place in the 3A & under State Team Tournament

The San Saba Tennis Team qualified for the state team tournament by winning the regional championship on March 6-7. Their were 16 teams playing in the state team tournament and 12 of the teams were 3A and 4 teams were 2A.
Playing in the State Team Tournament were San Saba, Forsan, Whitesboro, Brock, McGregor, Reagan County, Ingram, Mason, Brownfield, Knippa, Brazos, Shallowater, Franklin, Wall, East Bernard, and Kirbyville.

News From Cherokee ISD

Spring Break is officially over and we are back in the swing of things here at Cherokee ISD. It seems that some sunshine and some extra sleep did everyone a world of good. We are on the downhill slide! Just 10 more weeks

Allison Christian awarded scholarship

Allison Christian, who attends University of Texas in Arlington, was awarded a scholarship for $800.00 from the Parent & Family Association at UTA. Recipients were presented the award by UT Arlington’s First Lady, Lisa Allison Christian awarded scholarship Karbhari, and University President Vistas Karbhari. Allison is a freshman Biology major from San Saba, TX and is the daughter of Marisela Spears and the late Steve

San Saba Powerlifting Team competes in Regional Meet

The San Saba Boys and Girls Powerlifting teams had a busy week this last week of school before spring break. Our girls competed in the weather delayed Girls Regional Meet, on Tuesday in Gatesville. The boys traveled to Whitney for a Friday weigh in, and competed on Saturday in the Boys Regional Meet.

Junior Lady Dillos win 2015 “Open League” Basketball Championship

The San Saba Junior Lady Dillos (10-1) hosted and won the 2015 “Open League” championship on Saturday, February 21st. The tournament championship was the 50th for the JLD program which began in 2004. The Lady Dillos entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed and met No. 3 seed Fredericksburg (7-3) in the semi-final round of the tournament. Led by Jaedah Lamberts 10 points and good defensive play by Courtnee Cash, Kiley Cummings, and Kailey Brooks, the Lady Dillos advanced to the tournament championship by defeating Fredericksburg 19-5.
