Garrett Welch named to 2015 FCA All-Star Festival squad

Garrett Welch of San Saba High School has been chosen as part of the men's basketball squad to participate in the 16th annual Big Country Chevy Dealers Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival. Parents are Ron and Robin Welch of San Saba. He was one of the over 260 area student athletes selected for the games that benefit the Big Country Area Office of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Representing approximately 60 area schools, the rosters for the North and South squads were announced at a Press Conference on Sun., Feb. 15, 2015 at Beltway Park Baptist Church in Abilene, TX.

San Saba Tennis Report

On February 13, the San Saba Tennis team played in the Waco Robinson Tennis Tournament. There were 20 teams playing in the tournament. Playing in the tournament were Centerville, China Springs, Elkhart, Franklin,
Gatesville, Hamilton, Liberty Hill,c Lorena, Madisonville, Mexia, Waco Midway, Palestine, Plainview, Robinson, San Saba, Taylor, Thorndale, Waco High, and Whitney. Playing in the tournament for San Saba were, Abigail
Ingram, Brooke Nagle, Erika Vega, Alexis Lewis, Omar Argote , William Cooley, Bryon Riggs, Drew Daniel, Reigan Casco, J. D. Zapata, and Emiliano Zapata.

San Saba Power-Lifting Teams compete in Brady Invitational

The San Saba Power-lifting teams competed this last Thursday in the Brady Invitational. With over 200 lifters, and 22 schools represented, our kids continued to excel in this meet. This was the last week for our girls team

San Saba Tennis Report

The San Saba Tennis Team played in the Llano Tournament on February 5th & 6th. Teams playing in the tournament were San Saba, Llano, Liberty Hill, Hutto, Early, Fredericksburg JV, and Mason JV. Playing in Division I were Omar Argote, William Cooley, Drew Daniel, Bryan Riggs, Reigan Casco, Emiliano San Saba Tennis Report Zapata, Abigail Ingram, Brooke Nagle, A.J. Gamboa, and Erika Vega. Playing in Division II were Kirby McDuff, Alexis Lewis, Lexie Hayes, and J.D. Zapata.

San Saba Power-Lifting Teams compete at Comanche Invitational

The San Saba Power-lifting teams competed this past Saturday at the Comanche Invitational. As usual, the kids did a great job, placing 4th as a team in both the boys and the girls division, out of  17 teams. Again this week our
teams were a little short-handed. Several lifters were still recovering from different illneses, and a couple were out with other school functions

News From Cherokee ISD

The junior high Indians played at home this week against Lometa. The girls suffered a loss of 36-26 but put up a good fight. The boys played a back and forth game with Lometa and ended up with a victory. The final score was 33- 30. The Cherokee junior high tournament was held this weekend
