Louise Barker McNair

Louise Barker McNair, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, October 30, 2015. Services were held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in San Saba, with Brother Sam Crosby Officiating. Interment followed at San Saba City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home San Saba. Louise was born to Thomas Morgan Barker and Velma Wiley Barker on July 26, 1922 in San Saba, Texas. She graduated from San Saba High School in 1939 and started working at San Saba National Bank in 1952 and worked there until her retirement in 1991. Louise loved working at the bank and did so for 39 years. She married Marion McNair in 1981 in San Saba and shared their life together until his death in 1988. She loved to play cards and other games and was always there for her family.

Robert George Bryden, Jr.

Robert George Bryden, Jr., 100, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2015 at the home of his granddaughters in Pasco, WA. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Kuykendall Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas. Services were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home San Saba. Robert was born to Robert G. Bryden, Sr. and Amanda Allene Clawson on March 1, 1915 in Brawley, CA. After graduating Robert George Bryden, Jr. from Brawley High School, Bob worked in his father’s garage, drove a truck and worked as a mechanic. Using his mechanical skills he gravitated into the aircraft industry. Before and during WWII he was employed by Consolidated Air in San Diego. CA. As he progressed in his field he went on to work at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. While working at General Dynamics, Bob met and married Jeanne Kuykendall. Together they shared their passion for hunting, fishing and taking many road trips in their airstream.

Thomas Gene Sutton

Thomas Gene Sutton, 65, passed away October 14, 2015 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born September 15, 1950 in Abilene, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, William B. Sutton (Jennifer) of Del Rio, Texas and Clinton Ray Sutton (Stephanie) of Lino Lakes, MN; brother, Larry D. Sutton; six grandchildren, Brennan, Tristen, Logan, Landon, Nolan and Nathan Sutton. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillie Sutton; brothers, Howard Mack Sutton and Aubreo Earl Sutton; sisters, Veda Ray Ward, Virginia Mae Brown and Carolyn Ann Rudy. Visitation was held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at G. W. Cox Memorial   Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas, with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in San Saba. Please view Mr. Sutton’s online memorial at heritagefuneraltx. com.

Richard C. Smith

Richard C. Smith, age 64, of Llano, passed away at his residence on October 15, 2015. He was born on January 15, 1951 in San Saba, Texas to Alfred Smith and Rutha (Rankin) Smith. Richard had served during Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force. He married Mary Jene Randolph on August 4, 1973 in Nashville, Tennessee and had been a resident of Llano since 1980. Richard had worked for the M.J. Wootan family for many years an enjoyed cooking at Cooper’s BBQ in Llano for years. He is survived by his wife, Jene Smith of Llano, two  sons ,Bradley Smith and his wife, Janelle of Buchanan Dam and Brian Smith of Llano. He is also survived by two sisters, Patsy Dawson and husband, Ralph of Austin and Peggy Horton of Llano, three grandchildren, Lane, Weston, and Jordan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ann Turner and two brothers, Jim and John Smith. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

Gladys Dickison

Gladys Dickison, age 82 of Lampasas, TX, died September 30, 2015 at Reliant Rehab Hospital in Round Rock. Gladys Jane Felts was born in San Saba, TX on November 16, 1932 to Dr. Richard C. and Lady Wynne Cayce Felts. She attended school in San Saba where she graduated from high school. She attended Abilene Christian University where she was a member of Omega Rho Alpha, the Kitten Club, Girls’ Training class and the college chorus. She received her degree with High Honors from Sam Houston State University. She also did post-graduate work at Sam Houston, Texas Women’s University and the University of Texas. She was a member of Alpha Chi. She married Jack L. Dickison and they were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She taught Vocational Homemaking for 4 years at Star before moving to Lampasas where she taught Language Arts, Physical Education and Art. She was selected as an “Outstanding Young Woman of America”.
