The San Saba Scottish Rite Club held its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, September 9th.. Twenty-one people were present for the meal and program. In anticipation for the upcoming Austin Valley Homecoming, nine members agreed to attend the Feast of Tishri and the special 4th degree on Saturday, September 20th

County Commissioners meet September 8th

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Monday, September 8th at 9:00 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers with Commissioner Rickey Lusty presiding. Mr. Lusty called the court to order and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Kenley Kroll gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

There is a little bungalow at 1206 Dry that is cast in blue with the shade of the large Ash Tree in  the front yard, upon closer inspection the house is indeed a dove gray. This residence is the recipient of the Garden Club September
Yard of the Month. Mike and Linda Allen are the owners of the cottage trimmed in white with a porch and carport that Mike installed after they moved there in 2000

Cherokee ISD announced the new release of a district-wide app from SchoolWay (formerly School Connect), a leading developer of mobile applications for  K-12 school systems and institutions. Brought to the district by Jostens, the free mobile app is available for Apple and Android mobile devices and keeps the entire school community connected to the district’s information they need delivered directly to smartphones and mobile devices

the Friends of Colorado Bend State Park and Park staff

On Friday August 1, 2014, the Friends of Colorado Bend State Park and Park staff hosted an Appreciation Luncheon for the those who have assisted in the road construction and entrance beautification at the park. Present were San Saba County TxDOT staff, San Saba City Park Staff, Game Warden Eric Cooper, Daryl Owens with TPWD, Park Volunteer Robert Hicks, Youth Volunteers Triston McGehee and Laura Beth Hicks, Park Hosts Jay and Betty Hoover and Charles Smith, and CBSP Park Staff
