As the celebration got under way Mill Pond Park was bustling with families and tourists enjoying everything the beautiful park has to offer. The birthday party planned by family friend, David Williams, was held in the San Saba County Historical Museum in Mill Pond Park. There were two cakes beautifully decorated in red, white and blue to honor the elder statesman. Mr. Crump’s daughter, Elaine, and her family were there to welcome many lifelong friends and colleagues.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service San Saba County

Have you ever heard of the Honor Flights? No, well, briefly stated they are an organization that provides the veterans of past military conflicts the opportunity to travel to Washington DC to visit the memorials there. But there is much more to it than that. Thankfully, one of the registered nurses with the organization lives right here in our own community. Linda Thompson, and guests, will be joining us at the upcoming Lunch and Learn hosted by the Texas Extension Education Association clubs of San Saba to talk more about this program.
