Cathi Lackey is the third and final winner of “Go Nuts Bucks”

Cathi Lackey is the third and final winner of the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce’s “Go Nuts Bucks”Shop Local Campaign. She is the August winner of $500.00. This contest has now come to an end. Thanks to all who brought receipts and entered. Thanks to all the chamber members for participating, and to Skeebo at KNUZ for announcing the contest and drawing the names of the three lucky winners: Ann Bearden, Linda Whitney, and Cathi Lackey.

Commissioners discuss employee health plans

By Alice Smith, Reporter.

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Monday, October 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge Byron Theodosis welcomed everyone and called the court to order with Commissioner Kenley Kroll absent. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

San Saba High School Alumni Association honors David Gilger

The San Saba High School Alumni Association recently honored Mr. David Gilger with honorary membership status. Mr. Gilger’s presentation was made at the September 27th San Saba Varsity Football game at Rogan Field, a  lace where you’ll find the honoree when the San Saba Armadillos are playing for the hometown crowd! The award was presented by Keith Shahan, President of the Alumni Association.

State Board of Education Honors Richland Springs ISD Volunteer Melanie Smith

The State Board of Education (SBOE) announced that 17 Texans who have provided collectively more than 100 years of volunteer service to Texas public schools were honored with the Heroes for Children award at the SBOE eeting on Friday, September 20, 2013.

Dr. Charles Key

Pictured above is Dr. Charles Key as he presents a check in the amount of $225.00 to San Saba High School Ag Science teacher, Maegan Barnett. Dr. Key recently participated in the Zoetis Industry Support Program which  onates money to the local FFA chapter based upon qualifying purchases during a set period of time. These contributions help to strengthen the local FFA chapter and help expand the opportunities available to students working  o become future leaders in the ag industry. Thank you Dr. Key!
