Odos “Sonny” Capps, Jr., 71, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 23, 2014 in Brownwood. He was born on September 26, 1942 to his father, Odos Alvin Capps, Sr. and mother, Dorothy Merle Christian Capps in San Saba County. “Sonny” was a lifetime resident of San Saba County and was a skilled painter. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing and especially loved his favorite dog “Spot.” “Sonny” is survived by his children, son,  Charlie Capps and wife, Tina from Richalnd Springs; son, Odie Capps and wife, Tammy from Weatherford; daughter, Bridgett Goetz and husband, Carl from Brady; and daughter, Lisa Young and husband, Carl from Hall;  nine grandchildren, Jeremy Young, Corey Young, Dusty Capps, Chad Capps and wife, Rashelle, Colton Young, Cody Capps, Shayla Goetz, Cassie Smith and husband, David and Haylie Goetz; two great-grand children, Tucker Capps and Emma Smith; three sisters, Vicky Moreno and husband, Junior from Richland Springs, Penny Johnson and husband, Bob from Algerita and Tami Lusty and husband, Maurice from Voca; one brother, Tony Capps and wife, Dixie from Tomball; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odos and Dorothy Capps and his wife, Helen Susan Parks. A visitation was held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba. Funeral Services were held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Shiloh Bible Church with Brother Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment followed at the Richland Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the San Saba County EMS. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.
