Norman Clyde Marek, 75, of Richland Springs, passed away at his home on July 10, 2014. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba. Graveside services was held at the Lawhon Springs Cemetery in Elgin, Texas on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Norman was born in Norman Crossing, Texas to William and Edna Marek. He went to school in Bandera, Texas and moved to  Richland Springs from Austin around 1993. Mr. Marek spent most of his life ranching. He loved restoring and working on automobiles, hunting and fishing, yard work and watching movies. He mostly loved spending time with his family. He is survived by 5 sons: Dwayne Marek of Leander, Tx; James Marek and wife, Stephanie from Austin, Tx; Norman Marek, Jr. from Austin, Tx; William Marek and wife, Misty from Nashville, Tn.; Russell Marek and wife, Lorain from Kerrville, Tx; 3 daughters: Michelle Newkamp from Leander, Tx; Kimberly Daniels from Brownwood, Tx.; Specialist Edna Marek from Killeen, Tx; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gary Wayne Marek and Wesley Ray Marek; 3 sisters: Verna Mae Slawson, Bobbie Jean Riedel and LaVaughn McVey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Family requests memorials be made to San Saba County Sheriff’s Department or the charity of your choice.
