Howard Weldon Harrell

Howard Weldon Harrell, a lifetime resident of San Saba, passed away Thursday, May 8, at his home in San Saba. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with interment at China Creek Cemetery.
Weldon was born on January 24, 1932, in San Saba to John Harrell and Irene (Ponton) Harrell. He married Shirley Walker on April 3, 1969. Together they have two beautiful children, Jr. and Lori. Weldon spent much of his life
ranching, but he also worked at cotton gins, and Merchant Freight business, as well. Weldon’s true love was his family, attending Bible Schools and training sheep dogs. Weldon never met a stranger. He began training sheep dogs in 1949 and would go to the Kentucky and Ohio field trials each year. In later years he enjoyed spending time at the ranch. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Harrell; one brother, T.B. Harrell and one sister, Ollene Thornton; 2 brothers-in-law, Maurice Perry and Edward Thornton; one sister-inlaw, Jeanette Harrell. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of San Saba; one daughter, Lori and husband, Ric Hunter of Jourdanton, Tx; one son, Howard Weldon (Jr.) Harrell and wife, Dorothy of San Saba; two grandsons, Dustin Hunter of Stephenville and Bobby Pairett of Ft. Worth; two granddaughters, Jamie Hunt and husband, Jesse of San Saba, and Kristen Harrell of San Saba; three great-granddaughters, Aidyn Grace Hunter, Zylie Hunt and Atleigh Hunt and one great-grandson, Rextyn Hunt; one brother, Woodson Harrell and wife Julia of SanSaba; two sisters, Marscelene Treadwell and husband, Buster, of Alvin, Texas and Gladys Perry of San Saba, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are: Eddie Thornton, Ronnie Thornton, Ben Harrell, Steve Harrell, Brent Harrell, Joel Perry, Brian Treadwell and Kevin Treadwell. Honorary Pallbearers are: Brice Wagner, Cody Little, Bobby Pairett, Jeff Reneau and Dustin Hunter
