Ground breaking for new cottage at Cherokee Home for Children

Expanding its program to more effectively help at-risk and needy children and to increase the level of stability in their lives, the Board of Directors of Cherokee Home for Children is announcing a ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. for their new residential cottage. It will be the home’s first new cottage in forty years and its largest residence. The new structure, which will be over 12,000 square feet, will house two groups of up to nine children per group, as well as three sets of houseparents needed to care and supervise 16 to 18 children.
