George Gerald Yarbrough, 79, of Brady, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in Brady. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady with Virgil Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Gerald was born October 27, 1934, in San Saba, Texas, to George Barron Yarbrough and Thelma (Langham) Yarbrough. He married Jewell Jones on November 23, 1984, in Brady and had been a resident for the last 26 years, after moving here from Ft. Stockton. Gerald enjoyed hunting and fishing and could watch shows for hours about the subject. He also enjoyed having a vegetable garden to tend and harvest from. He was a very kind, caring person who loved his family and will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include: wife, Jewell Jones Yarbrough of Brady; one son, Allan Yarbrough, and wife Ruthie, of New Mexico; one daughter, Deidra Lawson of Brownwood; four sisters, Wanda Bessent of Lometa, Mary Davis and June Davis, both of Ft. Worth, Martha Tamerc of Arkansas; one brother, Nat Yarbrough of Tennessee; six granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
