Rabbit Hole is a play written by David-Lindsay Abaire. It was the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play deals with the ways family members survive a major loss, and includes comedy as well as drama. At the age of twenty-six, the playwright was challenged by a professor to write a play about something of which he was scared. He couldn’t think of anything that scared him. It was after he had a child of his own he realized that the scariest experience on earth would be to lose that child. The realization provided the impetus for the play Rabbit Hole.
