James “Jim” Novark went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Jim, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who loved him so dearly. Jim was a member of Heart of Texas Country Music Association and enjoyed attending the Opries in the surrounding areas of the Hill Country. He ended his law enforcement career serving as a Reserve Deputy in the San Saba Sheriff’s Dept. under Allen Brown after moving to San Saba in 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Helen, and his son David. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Yvonne of San Saba; daughters, Debra Novark and husband, Keith Brautigam of The Woodlands, Laura Novark of The Woodlands, Angela Johnson and husband, Robby of San Saba, Lisa Edwards and husband, Jim of Houston; son, Calvin Itz and wife, Brooke of Belton; and his canine companion, Abby. Jim was the proud Paw Paw of Daniel, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Savanah, Braiden, Gabrielle, Brytin, Grayson, Ava, Grant, and Phoebe Claire. He is also survived by sister, Patsy Henry of New Waverly, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was laid to rest in Shephard Hill Cemetery, Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in Montgomery County. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014, at 2 o’clock at San Saba First Baptist Church. Courtesy of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas.
