Mary Kempsky, 93, a longtime resident of Lampasas County, passed away Thursday November 28, 2013. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., December 2, 2013, at Senterfitt Cemetery with Reverend Jennie Tucker
officiating. Mary was born August 8, 1920 in Killeen, Texas, to William and Ellen (Johnson) Cloud. She married Johnnie Kempsky in 1956. Mary loved cooking, baking, and gardening, studied art and enjoyed doing pottery. She was a member of Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, and the Lometa Garden Club. She always received great fulfillment from spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved to quilt, and was
a collector of a variety of things. She believed that the hands should never be idle; she finished her Bachelor’s degree at the age of 60. She was always enthusiastic about doing things and encouraging others. She took pride in enriching the lives of her family and friends with her beautiful spirit and sweet personality; Mary had a kind, thoughtful, and humble spirit with a beautiful smile. Survivors include one son Paul Kempsky, one daughter Barbara Broyles, two grandchildren Charles Austin Broyles and Lindsey Broyles all of Lampasas County, one nephew Vance Cloud and one niece Elizabeth Cloud. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Kempsky and one brother Samuel Cloud.
